Denver’s first marijuana bar—the second licensed business in the city to offer an on-site marijuana consumption area is opening this fall. It’s big news in a city where recreational marijuana is legal, but places to consume the bud can be hard to come by.
Located at 1753 S. Broadway in central Denver, Vape and Play will be a 21-and-over social lounge and entertainment venue for cannabis connoisseurs. The lounge received the second-ever license issued by the City of Denver for a marijuana consumption area in a business, reports the Denver Post. The first venue to receive a license in Denver was The Coffee Joint, which opened earlier this year.

Owner Taylor Rosean describes it as a “multi-station, saloon-style vape bar,”
“This will be one of the first legal spaces for tourists, eager to partake in our cannabis culture, to safely and legally consume the products they are already purchasing here as they visit,” says Rosean.
“Not to mention we will be providing a space for locals who rent and are not allowed to consume on their property per their lease, or just for people who would like to enjoy cannabis in a space that isn’t their living room.”

Patrons, however, will have to bring their own cannabis per the rules of Denver’s 2016 voter-passed Initiative 300.
The venue is in Denver’s busy “Green Mile” district, so called because of its concentration of marijuana dispensaries. Opening day is planned for November or sooner depending on how quickly they complete renovations.
