Smart Cannabis Corp. (OTC:SCNA), a manufacturer of turnkey cannabis production greenhouses, announced this week a new project which will have the company building a massive greenhouse complex and farm in Salinas, California. Under contract for an unnamed client, Smart Cannabis will also implement an innovative new greenhouse system for the first time on the site. According to a statement, the project is fully permitted and scheduled to break ground next week.
The company’s new gutter connect system is also being deployed for the first time with this project, resulting in more efficient use of land than the client would have been able to achieve previously.
According to a statement, the unnamed client has experience with Smart Cannabis’ Quick Deploy Greenhouse systems already. However, the new site where the greenhouse is to be built is smaller than previous build sites, requiring an innovative new approach which will allow the same amount of production space in a smaller area. CEO John Taylor developed a new, greenhouse system to retrofit existing greenhouses while increasing their square footage. The company calls the new product their Quick Deploy Gutter Connect.
Smart Cannabis recently made news when the company announced they would be retiring one billion shares of common stock; a decision agreed upon by board members in early June.
"Reducing the number of outstanding shares is a fair and practical decision made in the interest of all shareholders. As we build this company, we want all stakeholders to know we act with integrity and are bullish about our future. This is an example of that intention," stated John Taylor, President, and CEO in a statement released earlier this month.
Smart Cannabis’ new Quick Deploy Gutter Connect system has the potential to bring about major changes in the California market, as it promises to retrofit existing greenhouses to expand growth square footage while lessening required land space.
