Did Meghan Markle give out weed goodie bags at her first wedding?

The rift between Meghan Markle, the Dutchess of Sussex, and her father, Thomas Markle Sr., has only widened since she married Prince Harry last June and officially joined the British Royal Family. The Dutchess hasn’t spoken to her father since then, and he has taken more and more drastic measures to either gain her attention or ride on her coattails to fame by doing things like revealing personal information about the Dutchess and her past.

Just before Meghan’s wedding to Harry, Mr. Markle faced controversy for selling photos of Meghan to the paparazzi. Mr. Markle’s latest bombshell is revealing that Meghan purportedly gave out party bags containing marijuana at her first wedding, to Trevor Engelson in Jamaica in 2011. She and Engelson were only together for a few years before they separated, and long before she started dating Harry.

“It’s illegal, but it’s no big deal in Jamaica. It’s almost customary down there. I don’t smoke weed and to the best of my knowledge, nor does Meghan,” he told the British tabloid the Daily Mail, “I don’t know what I did with mine. I think I gave it away. I kept the bag and I use it to keep the sea air off one of my Emmys.”

Mr. Markle is a Director of Photography, who has won Emmys for his work.

This isn’t even the first controversy surrounding Meghan, her American family, and marijuana. Her half-cousin, Tyler Dooley, runs a marijuana growing operation called ‘Royally Grown,’ and has his own MTV reality show with the same name. His flagship strain, Markle Sparkle, is named after Meghan.
