The North American Marijuana Index appears to be holding steady after the Thanksgiving holiday, with the markets returning to a full day of trading today. Opening at a low of 170.02 the Index hit a high of 174.77 before flattening out at 172.45 around 1:30 this afternoon. There are still a few more hours of trading before the markets close for the day.
United States Index
U.S. stocks kept the North American Index steady as a whole this morning, opening up at 61.74 before hitting a low of 61.07. The Index eked out a high of 62.08 and is now trading at 61.44 as of this afternoon. Late day news may yet spark investors to move in either direction before the markets close.
Canadian markets picked up some steam this morning, as investors continue to pour money into the industry following months of good news across the sector. The Index opened the day at a low of 431.72, and at one point shot up to 453.25. As of 1:30 this afternoon the Index was hovering around 445.89.
Looking at some of the industry’s top gainers this morning, Cronos Group Inc. (MJN:CA) was up .340 while Cannabis Sativa Inc. (CBDS) was up .510. Rounding out today’s companies to watch is Abcann Global Corporation (ABCN:CA) trading up at around .180.
On the other side of the coin, today’s most prominent losers include MPX Bioceutical Corporation (MPX:CNX) down .500 and CanniMed Therapeutics Inc. (CMED:CA) down .480. Axim Biotechnologies Inc. (AXIM) looks to be having a down day as well, as the company’s price was down .335 as of 1:30 this afternoon.
In what is again a steady day of trading, Aurora Cannabis Inc. (ACB:CA) is on the most active list, with a share volume of 35,560,003. Golden Leaf Holdings Ltd. (GLH:CNX) is busy as well, with a share volume of 28,731,834 and Namaste Technologies Inc. (N:CNX) rounds out the list with a share volume of 22,449,743.
