In an era of streamlined sales and social distancing, one company has put forth an innovative solution to the cannabis landscape. As a recent press release noted, meet Buddy, the AI cannabis vending machine.
According to a statement from UK Tech startup Social Vend, the company behind Buddy, this is no ordinary vending machine. That’s because Buddy is a virtual AI 'Budtender.' Not only will the new machine deliver a personalized experience to cannabis customers, but it will also educate consumers while helping to drive sales.
The new system features what the company calls “extensive cannabis sector specific functionality.” Buddy tracks customers daily purchasing limits to help keep everything streamlined and keep a note of customer preferences. Moreover, one of the more innovative features that the industry is sure to appreciate is that it can be integrated with a store's existing Point-of-Sale or compliance solution.
So how does Buddy work?
When a customer scans their ID card, the virtual AI vending machine brings up their past purchasing data. It then uses this data to recommend products — and promotions — tailoring them specifically to that customer's needs.
“The rapid evolution of the global cannabis market inspired us to develop an automated retail concept designed to fulfil the market need,” said Andrew Theodore, CEO of Social Vend, in a statement. “We’ve added industry specific functionality including features for compliance, granular inventory tracking and the acceptance of crypto.”
Buddy launches across North America in November and is available for pre-order now at www.buddyvend.com.
